The Lady Victoria Colliery is the home of the National Mining Museum Scotland. The colliery was opened in 1895 and stopped producing coal in 1981. It houses a huge steam winding engine that moved both miners and coal throughout the time of production. I would love to visit the Lancashire Boilers. The museum shows mining tools and products. It also has a very interesting exhibition of the social aspects of life in a mining village. One of the absolute highlights are the tours guided by formers miners who worked in the Lady Victoria Colliery.
